To relieve occasional constipation in the short term.

For short-term relief of occasional constipation, Senokot contains senna/sennosides, which work as stimulant laxatives. Congestion is a fairly common and uncomfortable condition, which includes hard, dry motions and difficult or irregular bowel movements. Weight loss cannot be achieved by using laxatives.

Warnings and cautions

• Not to be given to children or adolescents under the age of 12 years
• Do not take more medicine than the label tells you to
• If there is no bowel movement after 3 days, or if symptoms persist, in particular if you have persistent abdominal pain or are passing blood, consult your doctor
• Not to be used for more than 1 week
• Keep out of the sight and reach of children

How to use

1. Adults, the elderly and children over 12 years: one to two 5ml spoonfuls at night.
2. New users should start with the lowest dose and increase it to the maximum dose for each age group, if necessary, by one half of the initial dose each day.
3. Once regularity has been regained dosage should be reduced and can usually be stopped.
4. Usually it is sufficient to take this medicinal product up to two to three times during that week.

Ingredients

Each 5 ml of syrup contains sennosides, as calcium salts, equivalent to 7.5 mg hydroxyanthracene glycosides, calculated as sennoside B.
Also contains methyl and propyl parahydroxybenzoate ethanol and maltitol liquid.
Caution is advised if you are diabetic as each 5ml contains 3.2 kilocalories.
